Stop complaining, do something

Laziness and complaining will get you nowhere.

This is according to Lemusu Pulepule from Solosolo, who says everyone has a purpose and it is their responsibility to discover it and use it to the best of their ability.

The 52-year-old met the Village Voice team while weeding grass to grow tomatoes.

The father of twelve believes everyone is called to work and not sit around and complain about the cost of living.

“People saying that life is unaffordable are the ones who have the answer and the solution to that, because in this world, we are not backsliding, we are moving ahead. So expect the prices to increase.

“Life is good and the reason people struggle is because they are lazy and the reason things become expensive is because we are not managing our time wisely and also because we are not working,” he said.

Mr. Pulepule states he does not work, except on the land.

Of his twelve children, three work, and the others who recently graduated from university are looking for jobs, while the others are still in school.

“Everything is in order in terms of water, electricity and my children’s education, everything is okay. There would be less money which is spent on the shopping and looking after your own wife and children if you work. I am working from what my own hands could make to earn something to get what we want,” he added.

Mr. Pulepule says there is a reason a person is born into this earth and if they follow God’s will, they will gain more knowledge.

“We exist to work, so regardless of the many family commitments and the church activities that we have, it is a must for us to have a portion put aside for that because it is what we have been called to do for God’s glory.

“This is where wisdom and understanding is founded. Sitting around doing nothing makes people lazy and unintelligent.”
