The Samoa Amateur Boxing Association’s (S.A.B.A) preparations for the Oceania Championships received a $5,000 injection thanks to the Gambling Control Authority, T.A.B and Samoa National Sports Lotto.

The cheque was by the Chief Executive Officer of the Gambling Control Authority, Tualatamalelagi Siaki Tuala, to the President of S.A.B.A,  Fesolai Va’aiga Tuigamala. Present were Papali’i Poloa and team Samoa Manager, Tu’ugatiti Leauanae.

Tuala said the money is intended to help S.A.B.A finance some of their costs.

“We thank the members of the public for continuing to play Samoa Sports Lotto games to help us assist sports and charity organisations in Samoa,” said Tuala.

Fesolai welcomed the gesture.

“We’re truly grateful,” he said, assuring that the funds would go towards nurturing future stars of boxing in Samoa.

“It’s so crucial that these funds are made available to sports associations such as the Samoa Boxing Association. It goes a long way in fulfilling the dreams of our young aspiring men and women.”
