A question for a very simple matter

Dear Editor,

Prosecuting of Suspended N.P.O Director – Mauga Precious Chang

Charges:

1. Negligent driving causing injury

2. Dangerous driving

My very simple questions on this matter for the public interest.

(a) Why can’t the Police do the prosecution?

(b) Are the charges that serious like murder, indecent assault, or any other offences punishable for like imprisonment that warrant the hiring of all these professional lawyers?

(c) Who will pay for all these Lawyers and fees that will be incurred in the Prosecution of Mauga Precious Chang?

(d) You mean to say Mr. A.G. that no local lawyer is qualified to prosecute this VERY SIMPLE CASE that even a Junior Police Prosecutor can do?

This is a prima facie case and whatever the outcome is, the public is always the loser. Decision making is very crucial for the people of Samoa.
