The partnership between Samoa Victim Support Group and the Malua Theological College dates back five years, when the first group of 3rd year students spent six weeks of Practical Ministry with S.V.S.G in 2011.

Last Sunday, the Malua Theological College 3rd year students and wives continued their ‘Faamasani’ or Practical Ministry program with S.V.S.G, this time, at the Campus of Hope.

Close to 25 theological students and their wives spent Sunday afternoons with the children survivors of violence and sexual abuse cared for at the Campus of Hope since mid-September.

Sharing on the Word of God and Worshiping, the program forms part of the spiritual guidance for the children of hope, while preparing the theological students with their calling as leaders of churches in village communities.

During the last four Sunday worship, the students and their wives have donated food supplies for the children.

Principal of Malua Theological College, Reverend Ma’afala Lima said the College is delighted to be a blessing to the Campus.

“The aim of the program is to give students the chance to lead worship services, and to engage with the public through Worship and Biblical sharing,” he said.

The Malua students, once they successfully complete their studies would look after various Congregational Christian Churches throughout Samoa and New Zealand.

S.V.S.G is therefore fortunate to develop networks with these up and coming Reverends at this stage in their career because comes the time when they are stationed in various villages, they would assist S.V.S.G and its Village Reps in maintaining peace and harmony within our families and village communities.

Today would be the last time the children of hope will be worshipping with the theological students and their wives.

S.V.S.G President Siliniu Lina Chang acknowledges the importance of the partnership with the Malua Theological College and wishes the 3rd year students and their wives all the best in their studies.
