In Samoa to chill out, relax

Peta Jordan and Dominic Forsythe from Australia have one goal in Samoa.

They just want to relax so that when they return home at the end of their holiday, they will be ready to tackle the challenges of 2018.

The two are best friends and they decided to spend the holidays here.

When Dear Tourist caught up with them, they were heading to the Marina for a cold beer.

Mr. Forsythe said they came to know of Samoa through their travel agent.

“We were looking for a place to spend Christmas,” he said.

“Then our travel agent asked if we had been here and we both said no. They recommend Samoa to us and one thing that stood out for us was the fact that we can actually go surfing here.

“We love to surf and when we saw that we immediately said Samoa here we come.”

The pair arrived on Thursday.

“We arrived on the rainy day,” said Ms. Jordan.

“However, we are thankful that the sun is shining and it’s not raining.

“We saw there is a surfing lodge in Savai’i so we spend two days here and then tomorrow we will be going to Savai’i for a week.

“Today we are sort of exploring through the town area and we had a look at the flea market and there are some pretty things that are being sold there.

“We went and had lunch and right now we are actually making our way down to Marina for a cold beer in the afternoon and then we are ready for Savai’i tomorrow.”

Mr. Forsythe said he knew about Samoa from his parents.

“My parents came here two years ago for the Commonwealth Youth Games so that’s how we knew about Samoa,” he said.

“This is both our first time here and we are staying at the Outrigger hotel just for tonight and then we head off to Savai’i tomorrow.

“We are here until the 30th of December and we just arrived on Thursday.

“We just want to explore and learn something new.

“I hope to be returning back to Australia relaxed and ready for what 2018 has for me.

“At the moment we are just exploring as much as we can for two days and then the next part is to surf, relax, swim and going snorkeling.

“We were told that Savai’i is the best so we hope to see what we want to see there and we want to try out some palusami as recommended by a friend of ours.”
