It makes sense

Re: P.M. says lease a secret

The way it works with “Wet Lease” of a Boeing 737-800 cost, starting from US$2,500 per hour, covering ACMI.

Although it is a good idea rather than a “Dry Lease” contract. Many will view this as an over-pricing contract but it is feasible and affordable for a small island like Samoa with a new airline.

The Prime Minister is within his contractual right not to reveal the cost and this is to protect the leasing company and their rights.

Boeing Corp priced out each aircraft they leased to airlines and leasing companies for them to sub-lease out to other airlines or corporate companies for a profit.

The aforementioned US$500,000 two weeks payment to Islandair is possible if Samoa Airways is flying more hours within that two weeks.

Best of luck to Samoa Airways and I cant wait to hear from them when they are ready to lease a Boeing 777.
