Samoan film, Three Wise Cousins, which premiered in Samoa on Tuesday night courtesy of Digicel, has received a pass mark from the first local people to see it. 

Guests who were given the red carpet treatment during the premier were simply in awe of the creativity put in by the Director, Stallone Vaiaoga Ioasa and his crew.

For Sailele Pomare, a U.S. embassy worker, she said the film was very entertaining and real.

“I thought the movie was really good and very telling in a funny but realistic way,” Mrs. Pomare said. “It had funny island love language that never wooed an island girl ever before.”

When told what the budget was for the film Mrs. Pomare was in disbelief

“I don’t know what budget the film crew had available to them but I’m proud they made it work.

“Budgets can be daunting but if you have an important message you need to get across, lessons in attitude and in life will be a little easier to accept if we all had a touch of humility and practiced self-evaluation.”

Another satisfied guest at the premier was Marj Moore and she highly recommends the movie for everyone.

“It was a really fun movie and it really showcased Samoa in a beautiful way,” Ms. Moore said “Especially the way they showed Samoan people and locations such as the children, flea market and Samoan buses.”Ms. Moore was also touched by the lessons the movie had to offer

“There were family values shown with the way they support one another and at the same time can also be blunt with each other. It also showed the hard life of some Samoan parents who live overseas and have to wake up at 5am to go to a factory to provide for their families.

“But all in all I take my hat off to the Director and the crew for backing themselves.”

Karla Leota, of Island Thrift, said the movie is awesome.

“From the moral of the story, the talent, the humour, the portrayal of our culture and our people the Three Wise Cousins captured it perfectly,” Ms. Leota said. 

“I'm still trying to get all of my thoughts together, there's so much I could take from this film. It is worth watching more than once.” The movie will be available for public viewing at Apollo Cinemas today.
