New Member of Parliament faces traffic charge

The new Member of Parliament for Falealili Sisifo, Aumua Isaia Lameko, has been charged with negligent driving causing injury.

Confirmed by the Media Officer of the Ministry of Police, Maotaoalii Kaioneta Kitiona yesterday, Aumua is scheduled to appear in the District Court on 5 April 2016.

Maotaoali’i confirmed that the charge follows an incident involving Aumua prior to the General Election on 4 March 2016.

The incident occurred on 29 January 2016 at Malaemalu, involving an eight-year-old female pedestrian.

The pedestrian required emergency medical treatment.

It was not possible to get a comment from Aumua yesterday.
