The Samoa Stationery and Books (S.S.A.B.) Meka Silver HP Promotion came to an end on Friday last week.

And to commemorate their first Meka Silver HP Promotion, the staff as well as the management, held a competition among the staff members.

Speaking to the Sunday Samoan, President of S.S.A.B, Tofilau Fiti Leung Wai, said this is something that they have decided to do to commemorate the end of their promotion.

“This is our first HP Promotion for the year 2018,” she said.

“And S.S.A.B. is very proud to be the authorised dealer for HP in Samoa. We are also the authorised service center for the HP products in Samoa, which include the laptops, copiers and all the HP products.

“So every year, we have to do promotion on behalf of HP, but one of the most proud moment for us was last year when we won the HP Silver award.

“Never before in the history of business a Samoan company was ever recognised by overseas by its service and also products.

“It’s usually the companies in the islands like Fiji, who are recognised by overseas companies or these big brand names, so I am very proud that a company from Samoa was recognised last year.

“In addition to that, HP now offers their full support for Samoa through S.S.A.B.”

So they’ve decided to do something to remember such award.

“So to commemorate and also to celebrate our HP Award, we decided to name this promotion the HP Silver Award. On the last day of the promotion, we asked everybody to come to work wearing a black outfit with some silver colour on their outfit,” she said.

“There are prizes as well, and we have three categories. There’s the best dressed female employee and the best dressed male employee and then there is also a category for the interview.

“We also have a competition for the best sales employee and the best sales team who have put in the most HP sales throughout the promotion, but for these categories, we will find out the winners by next week because accounts have to confirm all the sales.”

Is there a plan for S.S.A.B. to fight for the Gold Award for HP?

“Well we want to, but realistically there are much bigger companies overseas and their sales are actually beyond the market here in Samoa,” she said.

“Nothing is impossible but the reality is just different because there are really big companies in New Zealand, like BB-tech, so some of these companies who have won some of the Gold Categories are our own suppliers.

“For the award we received, we didn’t enter, HP just recognised us and selected us and they only select from their authorised HP dealers and S.S.A.B. is the only authorised HP dealer here in Samoa.

“At the end of the competition, Taupau Carlton Chadwich, won the best male dressed, Veronika Sia Namulauulu, won the best dressed for female and Titilua Moors Taulapapa, won for both the male and female and interview category.”
