Grow our own solutions

Dear Editor

Re: Manu Samoa’s post mortem begins

We can solve all these issues when we develope our own juniors, at the GRASSROOT level (Falealupo - Aleipata)

As per my previous posts these are doable tasks, not easy though but it’s permanent solution.

We can produce more star players so we will NOT rely anymore on overseas base players. There are lots of ways we can manage/protect our junior stars in the future from overseas poachers.

Eg. We can make a deal with overseas clubs on a loan scheme  term basis, with condition that players will be available for Manu Samoa selection anytime. They will never say no bacause they want our stars for their clubs.

Our current school program is very weak.

We have developments in Samoa, agriculture, tourism etc. I believe development of our God given natural talents (sports) is an untapped potential. This is a goldmine development.

This government did a lot of unpopular changes to benefit Samoa, left hand roadside , time/dates changes etc to align with Aus/NZ our trading partners. The government can lead and fund this sports GRASSROOT development.

Send a fact finding mission to Aus/NZ on how to run and administered such a competition.

There are lots of junior clubs we can learn from.

It is time to treat sports seriously, sports is no longer a leisure past time, it’s a massive billion. $ industry worldwide which links to media etc. Samoa can tap into this lucrative industry by supplying the best athletes (in any sport)

We can do that by proper GRASSROOT development.
