Apia Baracuddas: This is our time

Apia Baracuddas wanted to make up for their rugby union brothers.

They definitely did not want a repeat of the Marist Sevens final where they lost the title to Auckland Marist.

Last weekend, the Apia Rugby League team came in full force and left Lotopa victorious.

Coach and Former Toa resident Skipper, David Masoe, said he is just grateful for what his team has achieved.

“We knew it has been a tough tournament especially with all the teams taking part, they have had so much experience of the game itself in Samoa,” he said.

“All our games today were hard, coming from the pool stages against good teams from Moamoa Rooster and Faleula Scorpions.

“We were lucky to pull off that win against Faleula in the extra time. It was a hard and tough game.

“So I am grateful about what the boys have done today and I am really proud they have come out on top after all the challenges.”

Apia Baracudda’s Captain was very proud of his team speaking with Samoa Observer.

“I am proud of the boys, we also played here last week but we couldn’t get the win last time.

“But it feels so good winning this tournament because this is the 30th anniversary of Marist, and this is something for us to remember this wonderful moment.

“I told the boys’ going on every game today, this is the good time to redeem from the loss we encounter last week.

“Let’s make history and lets enjoy the game we love.”
