Church to simple basics

Dear Editor,

Listening to the P.M. weighing in on the controversial dismissal of a C.C.C.S pastor from his parish, without the usual process is like listening to a faleaitu.

But I must admit that despite the faleaitu being cynical and sarcastic it projected a deep and critical message. For some without a so-called theological background, the P.M. nailed it right to the theological core of the issue.

For this time, I do agree with the P.M. that God has given men and women the common sense, to wade through matters that are difficult and problematic to out limited human perceptions, yet simple and solvable.

Common sense would have prevailed in matters such as this, but obviously it has not.

As a member of the C.C.C.S I love my Church and cannot remain silent.

The C.C.C.S. has been plagued by inconsistent and inconsiderate decisions that have come to haunt and drive away many church members. It’s a fact that we are losing many members.

I believe tvhere have been cases that should have been dealt with, but nothing was done.

It seems that the will of God that is coyly proclaimed is far away from recent decisions including this one.

Common sense urges us to forgive and save. That is God’s will.

Stui, I reckon you should have been a pastor, but I don’t think you would have been a good one because you are too sarcastic.

But it’s heartening to hear you weighing in and trying to bring back the Christian Church to simple basics.

Theological academics...my foot. Common sense is the essence of theological wisdom.

Have a good Sabbath, Samoa.
