Jesus desires mercy not sacrifice

Dear Editor,

Re: Ex-Reverend tells all

When the Pharisees were asking questions why Jesus is having dinner with Matthew the tax collector and a ‘sinner’ as that’s how they labelled Matthew.

Jesus heard them, turned and said to them “I desire MERCY not SACRIFICE.” Jesus clearly said “it is my Desire’ all about ‘forgiveness’ the centre and the very core module of the gospel that demonstrates in Jesus ministry which activates through His compassion for the people, teaching people about forgiveness and the Greatest commandment.

“Love one another as I have loved you.” I feel sad in the spirit that no mentioned of the (Elders – C.C.C.S) been stood by Opapo and family to offer spiritual support, encouragement or spent time in fasting and seek the Lord in prayers about the situation.

God has never changed, yesterday, today and forever.

He remains the Sovereign Lord, Almighty God, The Great I Am that hears, sees and knows exactly who we are, what’s on our mind and what we are doing!

God’s ways and thoughts are much, much higher than our thoughts.

I feel for Mr. Opapo, his daughter and family.

As a believer of the Gospel of Jesus Christ, the Father, the Son and the Holy Spirit lets continue to pray for Mr. Opapo and his family that the Lord will prevail, His peace and His blood will cover this family.

Pray also for the leaders/ elders of any churches, our government leaders to bestow on them the true wisdom from above, to guide and lead people according to God’s will.

‘Fear of God is the beginning of Wisdom’. Jesus desires Mercy not sacrifice!
