We should be talking about theft

Dear Editor,

Re: Scourge of theft in Samoa

Thank you Tony for being honest and courageously bringing to the fore this shameful behaviour and to the attention of the Samoan community.

This issue and numerous other social issues that are rife in Samoa should be discussed in every home, family, schools, workplace and particularly preached from the pulpit.

Another sermon for ministers of all churches as this is absolutely not a healthy behaviour. The consequences of this behaviour if not addressed will sadly become a generational lifestyle because the children have seen parents do it without any shame.

This is damaging and affecting not just the thief and the victim but the economy of Samoa, leave alone the spiritual side of how God’s heart is saddened by what is happening to this beautiful paradise.

What type of message is Samoa sending to the world?

These are issues that concern all Samoans at home and overseas.
