Logan wins Ford TRI Race 4

Logan Granger of Auckland was a proud bloke on Saturday at Mulinu’u. He won Race 4 of the Ford Hyundai Samoa Tri series.

The win was unexpected because 24 hours earlier, Logan did not have any plans of doing a triathlon in Samoa on the weekend.

When he found out about the race late on Friday night, there was no holding him back. A borrowed bike from a work colleague and a few adjustments to his training apparel and he was ready to run his very first triathlon race in Samoa.

He did just that and he won it too.

At 48 years of age, Logan is a fitness buff who is always looking for action. He is already booked for the Ford Tour of Samoa in September.

The hot conditions will not deter him from coming back for the Tour.

“I loved my race. It was very hot but fantastic race and support on the side,” he said after the race.

“Can’t wait for the Tour in September,” he added.

Then, Logan is traveling to Samoa with his partner Nikki Hart who is also riding the Tour.

In the women’s race, Kat Riley was the only competitor there. She ran a great race to finish 20 minutes after Logan.

The next race of the Series in July will double as the Samoa Triathlon Federation national trials. That is a week before the Warrior Race on Saturday, 29th July.
