Vailele E.F.K.S. dominates final

The Vailele E.F.K.S. had a lot to celebrate last weekend.

They dominated the finals of the BlueSky “Play Netball” Tournament, winning the Under 10, U13 and coming third in the U15 division.

The growth and strength of the Vailele E.F.K.S. netball teams has developed hugely over the last two years and was clearly displayed during the final.

The strong force behind this club is their Coach and Team Manager, Reverend Siaosi Salesulu and his church community.

Reverend Salesulu is a strong advocate for netball development programmes and whenever possible fields a team not only in this tournament but also the Business House competitions and the National Netball League.

The tournament held every Saturday morning has created a routine for most families of: players up early in the morning, getting their family to hurry up to leave, play netball and hang out with their team mates.

Signs of growth in this netball development programme are: increased participation of players, four new clubs entered in the competition and the increase of teams registered from the clubs.

“Netball provides a safe environment for players guided by the Netball Samoa Child Protection Policy and will continue with other tournaments as a result of the demand from players, families and communities,” Netball Samoa says.

“Acknowledgement and thanks to BlueSky Samoa as the major sponsor and Nico Nomani from BlueSky for your presence at the Prize giving.”
