Three lucky winners were announced by Digicel Samoa for their Easter Trolley Dash at Farmer Joe, Vaitele.

They were Matainofo Pomare of Samatau, Darren Ah Hao and Stephen Posi.

According to the Chief Customer Officer of Digicel, Deepak Khanna, this is the first time Digicel has partnered with Farmer Joe in an initiative such as this.

“This is a promotion of ‘All in One Bundle’, which automatically qualifies one to go into the draw to win the Easter Trolley Dash,” he said.

“So the winner will get a 60-second time to fill up their trolley with whatever, the second place will be given a time of 45 seconds and the third winner will be given a time frame of 30 seconds.”

“This is the first time we’ve done something like this with Farmer Joe and it will definitely not be the last time.”

“As for this initiative, we know it’s that time of the year where family come together and commemorate Easter.”

“So we thought this would be a great initiative to help some families out and give them the chance to remember this Easter.”

“So that is why we have decided to do this.”

Mr. Pomare told the media yesterday that this couldn’t have come at any better time.

“Today (yesterday) is my daughter’s 10th birthday,” he said.

“And for me to win this is great, I can give my daughter a huge birthday party with some great food thanks to Digicel and Farmer Joe.”

“I am so happy that I was able to win this and it’s going to be a great Easter for me and my family.”

“With all of this, it’s definitely going to save a lot of money spent on food.”

According to an employee of Farmer Joe Vaitele, the 30-second winner took more than $1,000 worth of items.

As for the 45-second winner, his shopping was estimated to be between $2,000 and $3,000 because he also got some coolers as well as boxes of lamb which cost $235 each.

The winner who had a time frame of 60 seconds the estimated cost of his trolley dash was between $5,000 and $7,000.
