A decision for disqualified election candidate, Tu’ula Kiliri Tuitui, will be delivered in the District Court today.

Tu’ula is charged with making a false declaration that he performed a monotaga for at least three years from the day he submitted his nomination paper to the Office of the Electoral Commissioner.

Represented by lawyer, Unasa Iuni Sapolu, Tu’ula pleaded not guilty to the charge.

Electoral Commissioner, Faimalomatumua Mathew Lemisio, is representing the Electoral Office.

In the District Court yesterday, Judge Fepuleai Ameperosa Roma, adjourned the decision to this morning.  He told the Court he had prepared his decision but he needed the views of the lawyers on the wording of the charge.

Tu’ula was among a number of candidates who could not contest in the 4th March general elections.

He was running against the Prime Minister, Tuilaepa Sailele Malielegaoi, before he was disqualified by the Supreme Court, over his monotaga requirement.
