The Women in Business Development Inc had its old building transformed into a functional workspace that was officially dedicated this week thanks to the support from the Yazaki Kizuna Foundation.

The newly refurbished office located in Nuu marked a significant milestone for the organisation that provides opportunities for vulnerable families to generate income through certified organic farming and traditional weaving.

President of W.I.B.D.I., Peseta Afoa Arasi Tiotio thanked Yazaki for their continued support and generosity over the years which has improved their service to the community and families in Samoa.

The Yazaki Kizuna Foundation has been supporting WIBDI since 2019, providing them with much needed resources and assistance over the years.

In addition to funding the refurbishment of the office, Yazaki Kizuna also donated stainless steel tables to further enhance the functionality of the production facility. The Japanese company had previously donated vehicles and water tanks and played a crucial role in supporting W.I.B.D.I’s work.

Before the opening of the refurbished office, WIBDI employees were using the production facility as their office space.

With the new admin office, employees have a dedicated space to carry out their work more efficiently. It will now serve as a hub for the management, finance and organic field team and will also be used for conducting training and meetings.

Overall, the official opening of WIBDI’s admin office represents a new chapter for the organisation as they continue to make a positive impact on Samoa’s agricultural sector by supporting people in the community. WIBDI is able to achieve its mission and empower more families in organic agriculture with the support of partners like Yazaki Kizuna.

Member of the Yazaki Kizuna Foundation Committee Atsunori Kubo, Yazaki Kizuna representative Makiko Noto and local representative for Yazaki Kizuna, Funefeai Oliva Va’ai were present for the official hand-over of the office to the management and staff.
