Between the Lines

MEETING PLACE

It seems that while the nation is boasting about hosting the big event in October, the government is yet to confirm a venue where all delegates would fit and have a meeting.

DIFFERENCE

It is a tale of two governments. One is making sure that there is no stone unturned regarding a pleasure boat while the other has all but cemented the affair.

HONESTY

Kudos to the taxi driver who dropped off groceries and other items belonging to a passenger at the police station along with his medicine and medical certificate. We need more people like him.

EXPERTS

It is good to see Samoa’s experts leading the way to fight plastic waste. At home, we have some experts who specialize in throwing plastic everywhere. Maybe more bins would help.

MEDICS

American doctors and specialists are in the country for nine days. Hopefully, they have brought their equipment with them as the ones at the local facilities need upgrading.

WAR ZONE

An army doctor was expelled last year by her own government when she described Samoa’s hospitals as those in the war zones. The doctor was not far from the point.
